Founder

Shawn Sullivan

In the fall of 1998, Shawn Sullivan came to Sheldon High School to build the program of his dreams–an animation program that would give students real “jobs” working with leaders in the field of Arts Media and Entertainment (AME).

Shawn’s program achievements received national attention when a student’s film was purchased and shown on HBO television. His program has also won Four National Television Academy Awards of Excellence. Later another team project resulted in a Regional Emmy Award. Shawn has a strong record as a teacher. He has won several teaching awards and commendations. In 2016, the Walt Disney Family Foundation bestowed the honor by declaring Shawn’s program as the best high school animation program in the world.

Founder

David Garibaldi

Since 2003 artist David Garibaldi has brought art to the forefront of pop culture through his performance painting style. Best known for his large scale paintings created in a live show format, Garibaldi currently travels the globe doing more than 100 live shows per year. Below is a list of some career highlights to date.

-Finalist on America’s Got Talent Season 7
-Performed for President Obama at The White House
-Appeared on The Today Show, ESPN, & International TV
-Has helped raise over $4 million for charities around the world
-Received the key to the City of Sacramento in November 2017

Performance

Tracy Burns

Tracy Burns has been teaching and performing internationally for over 30 years. She teaches acting, performance analysis, visual storytelling and improv at PixarDreamWorks, Blue Sky AnimationCinesiteThe Third Floor, the Animation Collaborative and other animation studios and production houses. She is the Acting for Animators instructor at California College of the Arts. She was named one of the top improv instructors in Los Angeles by Backstage magazine. She was the director of the improv program at Pepperdine University for 13 years and has taught at DisneyChapman UniversityCal TechS.F. StateMiddlesex College in London and the University of Central Florida, among others. She’s facilitated workshops for many companies including GoogleGeneral MotorsTelltale Games, the Judiciary Executive Leadership Program and Women in Animation. Tracy was a founding member and co-artistic director of London Theatresports and was the artistic director of Los Angeles Theatresports. She has also taught numerous comedy groups in England, Germany and Holland. She was a core member and instructor for the award-winning improv group Impro Theatre. She has also taught and performed with many other groups such as Second CityACME (L.A.), BATS (S.F.)The Comedy Store Players (London), Unexpected Productions (Seattle),The Brody and The Siren (Portland).

Dance Pillar

Lexus Williams

Lexus Williams (Lexi) is a dancer from Cameron Park, CA. She is 29 years old and extremely passionate about teaching the youth. Teaching kids the fundamentals of dance and building their confidence is what she lives for. Some recent work she has done is with performance painter, David Garibaldi. She was given the opportunity to perform at a Green Bay Packers half time show, Raiders Halftime Show, Carolina Panthers half time show, numerous corporate shows and more. She also was a part of David’s “Art Life Live Tour” and “ Art and Technology Tour”. Years ago she also performed with Zendaya at the California State Fair. August of 2017 she returned from Europe from performing at Festival United. Last but not least she owns three of her own Dance Company’s called Theory Dance ages ranging from 7+. Dance has always been a part of Lexi’s life and she loves to now share it with the youth and help encourage them follow their dreams.

Music Pillar

Allen Simpson

Allen Simpson is an acting coach, voice director and composer/songwriter. In addition to teaching acting and visual storytelling, he’s also written several songs for The Simpsons as well as composed music for Sarah Silverman, Jack Black and Drew Carey. Allen was also a voice director for Telltale Games’ video games Game of Thrones and Tales from the Borderlands. He’s worked with Pixar, DreamWorks, Disney, Blue Sky, The Third Floor, Cinesite, Chapman University and California College of the Arts.

Rikesh Lal

Defining Creativity

We all talk about it but what does it mean to be creative? This presentation hopes to give answers to this by defining why creativity is important in any discipline. Participants will go through examples of how its used in advertising, what a typical process of developing an ad looks like and most importantly, how you can find your passion and put it to work.

Rikesh Lal is a creative director. Over the years, he’s created award winning advertising campaigns for brands like Nike, Google, Sprite, XBOX, and MINI. He’s also responsible for bringing back an advertising icon–The Energizer Bunny. Rikesh has worked with visionary directors (Spike Lee, Todd Phillips), award-winning actors and celebrities (Jeff Bridges, Lady Gaga) and a legendary creator–Matt Groening (The Simpsons). He’s also a firm believer in making things with your hands.
